Many vehicle manufacturers have been using E-distributors (fuse and relay boxes) in their vehicles for a long time, which makes it possible to connect many loads to the main supply line at the same time. With a few and smaller consumers, a simple line branch, a so-called splice, can alternatively be used. However, due to the additional EMC shielding and insulation protection, the two distribution concepts cannot be transferred directly to the high-voltage vehicle electrical system.
Wölfle is therefore developing solutions for power distribution in the high-voltage on-board network. Depending on the topology and requirement profile, either compact high-voltage boxes with a few cable outlets or distribution boxes with shielded housings for many load outlets can be used. The application determines which technical requirements apply to both types of power distributors and which applications they are best suited for.
