Training as an electronics technician for devices and systems Tobias Locher - Internship abroad in Seville

Looking Beyond the Horizon: Tobias Locher Reports on His Internship Abroad in Seville
A stay abroad offers not only professional development but also personal and cultural enrichment – as shown by the experience report of our dual student Tobias Locher, who recently completed a three-week internship abroad in Seville.

Viva España – Arriving in Andalusia
After arriving at Seville Airport, Tobias and his fellow travelers received a warm welcome. The group of six was divided between two centrally located apartments – an ideal starting point for getting to know the Andalusian capital. Although the stay began with two weeks of continuous rain, Seville afterwards showed its sunny side – with temperatures of up to 25°C.

Technology Meets Team Spirit
Tobias found his internship placement at Bética Electrónica, a company specializing in the distribution of electronic components, particularly antenna technology. Together with his supervisor Roberto Romero – who fortunately speaks German – Tobias worked in field service. The language barrier was thus quickly overcome, and Tobias was able to dive straight into the daily work routine.

His daily responsibilities included:

  • Installation and configuration of satellite dishes and antennas

  • Signal testing and optimization of reception quality

  • Maintenance and inspection of electronic systems

Deployments took the team not only through Seville but also to surrounding cities such as Utrera or Dos Hermanas.

Experiencing Language & Culture Firsthand
In addition to gaining technical insight, Tobias also had the opportunity to participate in a daily Spanish course. In intensive 2.5-hour sessions per day, he not only deepened his language skills but also gained fascinating insights into Spanish culture.

Free Time in Seville – Between Tapas and Architectural Wonders
Thanks to the compact workday, there was plenty of time to enjoy life in Seville to the fullest. Sights like the imposing Plaza de España or the impressive cathedral were just as inspiring as spontaneous trips – such as to Cádiz on the Atlantic coast, including a beach visit and a walk to the Castillo de San Sebastián fortress. A short detour to Barcelona and a visit to the famous Sagrada Família were also on the agenda.

An Inspiring Conclusion
Tobias draws a thoroughly positive conclusion: "The internship abroad was a great opportunity to expand my expertise and, at the same time, get to know a new culture. The openness of the people, the varied work, and the many new impressions made this time unforgettable."

We are delighted that Tobias was able to have this valuable experience – and we are proud of the international commitment of our junior staff!
