Award as a volunteer-friendly employer Ministry of the Interior recognises commitment

Minister of the Interior Thomas Strobl has recognised volunteer-friendly employers in civil protection. The award goes annually to companies in Baden-Württemberg that have been supporting their employees in voluntary work in civil protection for many years.

“Whether natural disasters, fires, traffic accidents or other damage situations, it would not be possible without our volunteers. Of course, those who volunteer in civil protection need support from us, the state, the citizens of our country and especially the employers. The fact that employers let their employees work at any time is very commendable, that is not a matter of course, that is an expression of our community and responsibility to one another - and that only goes hand in hand, ”said the Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Thomas Strobl on the occasion of the award ceremony on 11 September 2020 in Waldshut-Tiengen.

Aid organisations and municipalities had submitted proposals in advance, which were evaluated by the Ministry of the Interior, Digitisation and Migration.

"I am pleased that the great support that our local fire brigade has received for decades from the Wölfle company is now also being recognised nationwide," said Mayor Andreas Denzel, praising the entrepreneurial commitment.
